The goal of the meeting is to build bridges between various areas of psychology in which the distinction between associative and propositional forms of learning has stimulated empirical research and theoretical debates about the mechanisms underlying the acquisition of mental representations and behavioral responses (e.g., attitude formation, stereotype formation, impression formation, evaluative conditioning, contingency learning, predictive learning, animal learning, clinical treatment of fear, etc.). By bringing together researchers from various areas of psychology (e.g., social psychology, cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, animal psychology), we hope to facilitate the intellectual exchange between these areas and inspire novel and groundbreaking research that cross-cuts the traditional boundaries between sub-disciplines.
