Social processes in Autism and Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia and Autism are both extremely heterogeneous, but both conditions share difficulties in real-life social interactions. The severity of social cognition deficits is comparable across both conditions, and simple tasks usually do discriminate between groups. In this talk, I will present results from a larger project that is focused on social processes using RDoC perspective. More specifically, I will present results about the regulation of interpersonal distance in which we compare preferred distance and the experience of social interaction. In the second part, I will present results from unstructured social interactions focused on social skills. Moreover, autonomous nervous system regulation (heart rate, skin conductance levels) will be considered.
